hello there,

You can call this a modern day scrapbook/portfolio of my work: collections of paintings, sketches, doodles, photography and perhaps some film (when i have time). This will be another creative outlet aside from writing (http://gabdez.blogspot.ca/). This blog will also act as a form of motivation to develop my art and to view my progress later on.

Messy warm up

I've started this new habbit of painting something quickly and sloppily prior to tackling a new task. It seems to not only get me going with mixing colours and making me pile on paint on the brush, but it also sparks inspiration for new pieces. The warm ups are done in my small sketchbooks and once I've "finished" one it makes me want to replicate it on a larger scale with more detail and time. It's a great habbit.

Feisty feline

First time in a while I've drawn a full figure from my mind without a photo reference. Proportions are improving! Yipee!!

Art collective

Little sample of my work and its current growth. It's a little sprout right now and I have a while till its in full bloom. It's watching how it grows that is the loveliest though.

Getting in the groove.

Getting into the groove of creating daily and kinda finding my own style. At least I feel I am. But it always changes. Why be static when were meant to grow.

Plus, a drawing a day keeps therapists away. Hah.

Ink one takes

Practice practice practice and pure lazingness in sketching it with a pencil first then tracing over in pen.

Ink pen one takes

Doing my best to create daily. All I have with me in Alberta are pencils, sharpees and fine tip pens. So there will be a lack of colour in my pieces for a wee bit.

Also, I've come to the realization that my mind is quite peculiar but I find peculiarities & strangeness to be quite lovely. There's such beauty in the odd. Maybe that's just me, but that's alright.

Take care my friends. Go enjoy this day :)

Lunar Audrey Kitching

Found a new muse. Her features are so unique and her pastel hair is fun to illustrate. Also her soul is so pure and her words are constantly uplifting and inspiring. I think I may just draw/paint her from now on.
